Bets were placed at our Casino Night and Live Auction, while the stakes were high as guests played hands of poker, hit the blackjack table, took the roulette wheel for a spin, and rolled the dice in games of craps.
Then, they traded their chips for raffle tickets for their chance to win big!
The MDS live auction featured an array of captivating items that made everyone feel like they hit the jackpot! A full orthodontic package from Small & Piers, a hand forged garden arch/trellis from The Metaled Company, (5) 7 night/6 day trips to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic donated by Peak Furniture + Design, Name the Gymnasium for a Year, Be the Auctioneer, and Free Afterschool for a Year rounded out our live items sold.

2024 Titan Fund
Morganton Day School is a 501(c)(3) non-profit institution. We are here to provide the best education to a diverse group of students, which requires tuition to be affordable. In order to provide the best programs and competitive compensation to our outstanding faculty and staff, we continually evaluate and assess tuition increases. However, unlike tuition, a financial contribution to the Titan Fund is fully tax-deductible and allows each family to give at a meaningful level to which they are able.
Your financial contribution to the Titan Annual Fund supports the people and programs that define MDS: amazing teachers, small classes, instructional resources, technology advancements, and enrichment classes (Art, Spanish, PE and Music). Tuition covers ~80% of our operating budget, so MDS relies on a combination of grants and unrestricted funds/donations (i.e. Titan Fund) to make up the difference.
Your participation is vital in our efforts to obtain grants. Many foundations look for 100% participation from families when reviewing grant applications. Also, we now have an online payment option, which allows you to have small amounts credited during the year. For instance, a gift of $10/week adds up to over $500!

The 2nd Annual MDS Athletics Golf Tournament
was held at Silver Creek Golf Club in Morganton, NC on Saturday, October 14, 2023.
Funds raised for tournament go towards uniforms, equipment, and improved facilities.

The Independent School Traditions
As do all independent schools, Morganton Day School operates without funding from city, state, or Federal tax revenues. Instead, Morganton Day School relies on tuition income and broad voluntary financial support. This support includes annual giving, capital giving, and endowment income. Independent school parents place great importance on the education of their children and accept a major role in the continued financial well-being of their children’s schools.
Since the School was founded in 1978, parents have made voluntary financial support one of the School’s proudest traditions. Our parents join trustees, staff/faculty, grandparents, and friends of the School to make Morganton Day a resource-rich environment that enhances students’ possibilities for success. Parents’ gifts have enabled MDS to build on a tradition of scholarship, service, stewardship, and leadership. Because these traditions are not self-perpetuating, we rely on donors to continue the legacy.
