Celebrating MDS Student Success

As another incredible school year draws to a close, it was time to pause, reflect, and celebrate our students' achievements at our annual whole-school awards assembly. This fun and exciting tradition was an opportunity to join as a community of learners and recognize the growth, dedication, and excellence exemplified by our students throughout the year.

From academics, athletics, and clubs, our students embraced and demonstrated the IB learner profile in all they did. Their dedication and drive led to greater learning and success. This year’s highlights included outstanding accomplishments in academics, athletics, and extracurricular activities.

Our 7/8-year-old soccer team earned a well-deserved spotlight for their remarkable 23-game winning streak and back-to-back county championships. Their teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship serve as an inspiration to the entire school.

In academics, we recognized students for excellence in reading and mathematics, applauding students who consistently challenged themselves, improved their skills, and supported their peers along the way. We also celebrated our Outstanding IB Students in both lower and middle school with the IB Book Award.. This award honors students who exemplify the attributes of the IB learner profile and serve as role models in our community.

These moments of recognition aren’t just about trophies or certificates. They are about validating hard work, encouraging continued growth, and building a strong sense of Titan pride. By celebrating student success, the message that effort, integrity, and passion truly matter is reinforced.

The pride I felt as I watched students receive the various awards was only eclipsed by the pride I felt as I watched their schoolmates cheer others' successes. MDS is an incredibly special school that is far greater than the sum of its parts. And I see students destined for greatness.

Congratulations to all our students—you’ve made this year one to remember. Enjoy a well-earned break, and I look forward to next year, learning and growing together!

Couldn't be prouder of our students,

Dr. Mikusa
Head of School
