5th Grade Hits the Airwaves

Our 5th grade class at Morganton Day School has been eager to create a podcast to showcase their knowledge from their inquiry classes. They are given an outline based on the material that they have been learning in their unit of inquiry. Using research skills they have gained over the school year they fill in the information and then create a script. All five students collaborate heavily on the script; researching, fact-checking, and watching out for errors. Mrs. Carey monitors and guides the class throughout the process, however, the work is completely done by the students.

Podcasting allows the fifth graders to express their ideas, and enhance their public speaking and research skills. This project encourages collaboration and teamwork among students, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
