My work with children stems from a fundamental belief that brains are built and not born. Through our play-based learning curriculum we have the opportunity to show children that learning is joyful work. They are receiving a beneficial and memorable experience tailored to their needs and individual pace while also receiving a solid academic foundation.

Starting my journey as a parent at MDS was one of the best ways to get integrated into the culture here. The global mindset, the inclusion, and the inquiry based learning, are all unique and so special to the learning process. As a teacher there is no better teaching opportunity than when you are given the freedom to follow the children’s lead. I feel so lucky and privileged that I have the opportunity to do that everyday.

While my journey at MDS is new, my experience working with children is far from that. I worked as a Montessori preschool teacher for three years while living in Endwell, NY, and also taught outdoor classrooms through Tinkergarten, for local families. These two experiences have significantly helped shape my teaching style and philosophy. I am appreciative of the opportunities for growth our wonderful school offers to students and staff alike.
