Parent Action Council

Welcome to Morganton Day School.  We are happy to have you visit our website.  If you are considering our school then you are already an active participant in your child’s education.

At Morganton Day School or MDS, as many of us affectionately refer to our school, you will see right away that it is truly a family where the staff, teachers, parents, and students work towards the success of our young community.

Every parent or guardian of an MDS student is a member of the PAC or Parent Action Council.  There is a Chairperson who works to organize the yearly events and there is at least one Classroom Parent for each class who helps to spread the word of events and volunteer opportunities.

We start each year with a Boo-Hoo/Woo-Hoo Breakfast.  We drop off the little ones to their loving teachers and then meet with new and veteran parents to reconnect after the long summer.  This is a fantastic way to meet new families and talk with old friends.  Also, during this first fun-filled week we have a Back-To-School picnic at the Collett Recreation Center where we enjoy a potluck style dinner and swimming.  This event allows us to relax and cool off!!

Additionally, we enjoy yummy selections at several bake sales throughout the year, a family friendly Fall Festival, Book Fair, Thanksgiving Feast, Christmas Program, Community Service Days, Grandparents Lunch, Art Show, and we take the time to organize appreciation for the loving teachers and staff at our school.  We offer a variety of activities to keep our students and their families involved with our school.

All parents contribute to the PAC in some way whether it is through time or a donation of yummy items for the Bake Sale.  Together we make the educational experience of our children more meaningful.
