PARENT VOLUNTEERS

WE NEED YOU!! Parent participation is a major component of the Morganton Day School philosophy. Your involvement in school ensures that the children’s needs are being met and that you are aware and part of what is happening in your child’s educational life.

Every parent is a member of the Parent Action Council (PAC). The PAC has monthly meetings and a variety of opportunities and events that need parent volunteers. The PAC Chair will be calling on every parent to help with programs and events during the year.

The staff and teachers value the assistance of parents in a variety of ways; field trip drivers and chaperones, classroom volunteers, office helpers, taking weekly lunch orders, preparing special treats and meals, hosting teacher appreciation events, and many other special projects. Teachers also will be contacting classroom parents to request help on a regular or periodic basis.

Parents and students also work together on All School Work Days to get the school ready for opening each August, and again in the spring. These are work days where general maintenance work, landscaping and repairs are made around the school.
